Jasmin’s story

The starting point of Jasmin’s culinary journey began when she was 10 years old, being inspired by her parents. For Jasmin, cooking has always been a passion and not a chore; it is the reason why she took the courage to pursue her career and follow her dream and passion. She considers her mum to be her greatest inspiration and passionately believes in empowering women to pursue their dreams, and more so a career in cooking where it’s a choice and not a chore. As Jasmin says, “women should be empowered to motivate others to do what they love and enjoy and to bring their dream into reality.”

Jasmin always had a passion for great-tasting food as well as living her dream job right now which is what led to her establishing her food business. Her cooking has been described as a delicious fusion of her homestyle Bengali cooking; the inspiration behind her canapés and recipes primarily stems from the food that she grew up eating with a twist of British culture and other trending food cultures and cuisines. Fully insured and registered, her food store provide freshly cooked halal food that is “quite frankly as delicious as it can get”! Most of the food featured consists of the dishes that Jasmin grew up eating from a young age, but she has put her own twist on them.

For example, her mini lamb tacos and her chicken tacos are her own recipe, seasoned with an array of aromatic, smoky spices and garnished with parsley and chilli flakes. Bangladeshi cuisine is best known for its use of a wide range of aromatic spices and aromatics as a result of the influence of Mughlai cuisine. Moreover, due to Bangladesh’s riverine geography, fish is the most common source of protein in the country. Whilst traditional classics feature on her menu such as her flavourful fish pakora with mint sauce, delicious chicken tikka skewers or wonderful chapli kebab with coriander chutney, Jasmin’s flair for fusion cuisine and creativity has led her to showcase innovative creations on her menu such as her tikka sushi rolls which have only featured on her menu recently. What’s more, there is a delicious, aromatic array of vegetarian options that feature on her menu as well. For instance, her signature range of chaat which is made of fresh ingredients: potatoes, chickpeas, coriander, green chilli, and red onions topped with fresh pomegranate and crispy fine sev (fine fried spicy noodles made from gram flour and semolina) before being finished off with fresh coriander and a sweet pomegranate sauce.
