Hey! I am Micky.
I have been living in the North East of England for over two decades, coming originally from Sri Lanka. During this time I learnt and developed my culinary skills. I am at stay-at-home mum, I love cooking for my family, and making them tasty, wholesome meals. They really mean a lot to me. I want to feel like my meals transport you to keep the flavours I grew up with in all my dishes.
Sri Lankan food is different to other South Asian food as we use coconut milk and home made spices for our dishes. Our main spices are coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, cayenne chillies, cardamom, cloves, pepper, garlic and ginger, fragrant leaves like curry leaves and pandanus leaves.
I completed Diploma in Food safety course with 96% pass mark and I have also received 5 stars food hygiene rating from local council.
I strongly feel that with "Hey! Food is Ready" I can explore and share my cooking skills with Sri Lankan food lovers or anyone who would like to try Sri Lankan food!
