Abhilasha’s story

Masterchef India 2016 finalist Abhilasha Chandak has the skill and experience to match the title. Masterful in a variety of cuisines and having served many VIPs and with many other awards to her name, including winner of the Hyatt Culinary Challenge, Abhilasha remains insatiable in her cooking and continues to develop and experiment with new recipes all the time. Published cookbooks and a show on Amazon Prime have not gone to her head either. Hailing from a large family in Kolkata, East India, she pursued academic scholarship first and continued to break traditions by pursuing her culinary dreams after marriage.

A love of travel provides constant inspiration for new ingredients and techniques to be incorporated into her dishes. Proof of her experimentation is found in her Abhi’s cookbook blog in which she spent a year developing a new dish every day. If this doesn’t show a love and expertise for the culinary craft nothing will!

Despite her aspirations and success, she remains well grounded and connected to her roots, all of her food is vegetarian if not vegan, health and sustainability remain central to her work.
