Chinese & Vietnamese Cook

Jen’s story

Lazy Susan was Jen’s innovative Lockdown brainchild. At a loose end and urged on by friends, Jen began to sell her Chinese Vietnamese cooking to her local area and soon the creative business model of Lazy Susan was born. Jen’s experience working in her family’s Chinese takeaway in Birmingham has given her years of skill, but the loss of her mother is what brought her family closer to cooking and each other. She sees her mother’s legacy and love in everything she makes, and you can feel it too.

A city girl, Jen has modernised healthy home cooking for her large consumer base in Tottenham whilst still maintaining a communal vibe. She stays to true to a South Asian flavour palate, specialising in Chinese-Vietnamese food, but also cooking cuisines like Malay and Indian. Spring rolls, tofu and chicken dishes with ginger and chilli infused sauces are a fan favourite.

Presenting her menus over vintage film stills encapsulates the feel-good retro vibe that Lazy Susan radiates; nostalgia for childhood, good home cooked food, and family. It’s a way of bringing people back together in an increasingly isolated world, and Jen does it with flare. If you’re looking for a fresh modern twist on traditional Chinese Vietnamese food, made from scratch with local ingredients and love in every dish, Jen would be the best choice.
