Brazilian Chef

Renata

Renata worked as a journalist at the newspaper Globo in Rio de Janieiro for 11 years before turning to cooking, but throughout her life, and during her time writing, food always stood at to her as a personal passion.

When she initially attempted to pursue cooking and food, her father refused to offer the financial support she needed. There was no money in cooking, it was a waste of time. Law is where you earn a proper living. Fortunately, her boyfriend knew the true love and enthusiasm Renata had for cooking and decided to invest in her. Renata began studying at the globally credited cookery school, Alan Ducasse Formation, Estacion da Sá University in Rio de Janeiro.

Sadly, in 2008, Renata’s brother developed cancer and so food became more than a personal passion, finding nutritional, organic meals became incredibly vital and important to her. Sixth months later, her brother sadly passed away and Renata had little family left. "I turned my suffering into love. Since then, it has applied in everything that concerns food. I found that the act of cooking was able to fill all that emptiness. Cooking for others, and knowing they are enjoying my food, brings me immense joy.”

In 2016, Renata moved to London and looked towards reinventing herself through her cooking and her food after going through so much. Renata spent all her time dedicating herself to her food studies and improving as a chef before starting her own food business. Renata caters for a variety of food events , specialising in Brazilian cuisine.
