Mohamed Seidi and Binta Banora are the power couple behind Seidi’s Grill, combining their extensible experience to provide Hey! Food is ready customers with authentic Portuguese.

Enter Hey! Food is Ready, which brings us to the present day, where you can now have the traditional, grill cuisine, known in Portugal as Churrasco delivered straight to your door – a real treat for the meat lovers of the world, with a range of succulent beef, pork and chicken dishes and comforting sides of chips or rice, there is something for everyone. Cooked to perfection, all their food is prepared with authentic Portuguese seasonings, including the notable piri-piri spice or even their own Seidi’s chilli sauce, and a love that can only come from such a family-run small business as Seidi’s Grill.

Mohamed, originally from Guinea-Bissau in West Africa, a former Portuguese colony (formerly Portuguese Guinea), has been cooking for over thirteen years, beginning his gastro-journey as a kitchen assistant, working all the way up to the position of chef at Newcastle’s former Brazilian restaurant Viva Brazil. Binta has too her fair share of experience, working as a chef in her native Northern Portugal for eight years at the Terroso restaurant, known for its high-end clientele of celebrities and politicians, including the President himself, before moving overseas in 2018 to here in the UK, leading to their joint creation of Seidi’s Grill in 2019.

Originally doing weekends markets in South Shields and small catering events like garden barbeques and birthday parties, business was good. However, with the unfortunate arrival of Covid 19, their dream was momentarily destroyed, until a friend introduced them to the concept of the "Cloud Kitchen / Ghost kitchen”, focussing on delivery.
